AIDS Vaccine 200 Ride Steering Committee is putting on the Atlanta Ride for the Worlds AIDS Day Ride, being undertaken in 14 other cities around the world.  Please join us for a fun 28-mile ride through city, commemorating 28 years since the first AIDS diagnosis.

On two days in May, you can be among a group of cyclists and volunteers who are challenging themselves and changing the world. The AIDS Vaccine 200 begins on the beautiful Emory University campus in Atlanta and winds through scenic Georgia countryside to arrive at Camp Rock Eagle in the Oconee National Forest. Action Cycling has donated over $400,000 to the Emory Vaccine Center, which is at the forefront of AIDS vaccine development. Throughout the history of this event, Action Cycling has returned 100% of funds raised by participants to our beneficiary.

The registration fee will cover a large portion of the expenses required to produce this event. The AV200 is produced by volunteers and the organizing committee is committed to securing corporate sponsors and individual donors to underwrite as many of the event expenses as possible. This will allow for the greatest percentage of your fundraising efforts to go to the beneficiaries.

All riders receive support, pit stops and meals during the ride as well as accommodations Saturday night in a University of Georgia dormitory and entertainment Saturday night. You are encouraged to participate in AV200 recommended training activities.

Completing back-to-back centuries (200 miles) is a very rewarding endeavor; Building public awareness for HIV/AIDS is very challenging and difficult; Raising monies to support people living with HIV/AIDS is very difficult; and, Making the commitment to accept these challenges is a very serious one.

This is very doable! The decision, the commitment, the training, the sweat, the pain, the accomplishment of your "Impossible Dream", the knowledge that YOU have made a significant contribution through your individual efforts that make a big difference in the world is a sense of great exhilaration that have made grown people weep with joy at the end of the ride. What you will have accomplished will be felt around the world.
